Austria:
Vienna

Vienna is the national capital, largest city, and one of nine states of Austria. The city is located in the eastern part of Austria along the Danube River.
In 1440 Vienna became the resident city of the Habsburg dynasty and then became the de facto capital of the Holy Roman Empire in 1437. In 1804, during the Napoleonic Wars, Vienna became the capital of the newly formed Austrian Empire.
In 1867-1918 Vienna was the capital of Austro-Hungarian Empire. Due to its musical legacy Vienna is called the "City of Music". The city center was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001.
