Stratford is a city on the Avon River in western Ontario, about 150km west of Toronto. Area was first settled in 1832 and named after Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Stratford was incorporated as a town in 1859 and as a city in 1886.
Stratford is known for being the home of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.
We come to Stratford often to see plays at the Festival, sometimes staying overnight and
continue to explore the city.
