Prague

Prague is the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic and located along the Vitava river. Construction of Prague Castle began near the end of the 9th century, expanding a fortified settlement dated back to the year 800. Later the region became the seat of the dukes, then kings of Bohemia and some Holy Roman Emperors. It was an important city to the Habsburg Monarchy and its Austro-Hungarian Empire. Since 1992, the extensive historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
