Quebec:
Montreal

Montreal was founded in 1642 by French settlers and named Ville Marie ("City of Mary"). Its current name comes from Mount Royal, the triple-peaked hill in the heart of the city. Montreal is the second Canadian city by population.

We visited Montreal in June 1997 and July 2008.
