Gruyeres is a small medieval town located about 66 km southwest of Bern. The Crane on both lantern's brackets is part of Gruyeres' coat of arms.

Geneva is located at the southwest end of Lake Geneva in the French speaking part of Switzerland. It hosts the highest number of international organizations in the world.

Lausanne is situated on the North shore of lake Geneva, about 62 km northeast from Geneva.

Interlaken is located between lakes Beinz and Thun about 60 km southeast from Bern.
