Chelyabinsk became a major industrial centre during the 1930s. The Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant was built in 1933. During World War II, the city was a major contributor to the manufacture of tanks and ammunition.Chelyabinsk remains an important industrial centre, especially known for heavy industries such as metallurgy and military production. It is home to South Ural State University and Chelyabinsk State University.

All photos have been taken since the summer 2022 by our cousin Elena Yarosh, who was born and still lives in Chelyabinsk.

Elena took a lot of photos and to make the viewing them more comfortable we allocated the photos to several pages. The page title usually shows the name of the main location, however the page often contains lanterns in the vicinity of this location. List of the page locations is placed at the top of the page.
